Wolf Park

Last Saturday we went with our friends to Wolf Park. As adults, we were really excited to go, but a little worried that the kids wouldn't last (the howl night started at 7:30p, which is when Jase and Meghan go to bed). Anyways, we loved going to the park (even if the kids only lasted for 30 minutes).

Meghan walking from the foxes to the wolf area

The first wolf we saw - Meghan saw it and said foof (her way of saying woof for dog). She said this the whole time we were there: foof, foof, foof, foof...

Meghan loves dogs...

Jase and Zach liked being as close as they could get to the wolves - I think they thought they were just dogs (which these wolves essentially were - they are raised from 3 weeks old around people and interacting with people).

I can't leave out Eli, who always has a smile.

Friends

A few weeks ago (ok, so it's actually been a month and a half) we watch our friend's 2 kids: M & E). Jase really likes M and was super excited that she was coming over before his birthday party and staying for it too. Meghan loves babies, so E right up her alley.

Jase and M loved playing with the play-doh and making lots of noodles!

Meghan wanted to share her blanket with E and then decided to hug him (and try to lay on him) - why do all little kids try to lay on other kids that are laying on the floor?

Meghan took a break from the playing and snuggles with daddy.

E loved having the little people and animals all to himself (after the rest of the kids were done playing with them).

We got the chance to feed E and he loved his puffs! What an adorable guy...

An evening of fun

Quite a while ago we had the Ream's over for dinner. We had a great time talking and eating and the kids played well.

Labor Day

We were able to spend part of Labor Day with friends having a BBQ at a local park. The get together was in part because our good friends, the Weber's, came back for a visit (and to show off their adorable and squishy son, CJ). Also in attendance were the Ream's, the South's, and the Madsen's. We had a great time, having hot dogs, chicken, frog eye salad, bean salad, Maren's famous salsa, chips, and yummy cupcakes, and chocolate and banana dessert.

Badminton and frisbee were hits, as was the playground. The kids were passed around, cats scared off, wagon rides shared, spitting water, and some bullying. Here are some of my favorite pics (and I'm sure everyone else will post some too).

Purdue Fountain

This is one of our favorite places to go to let Jase (and Meghan) play in the water. Today was a great day, not too hot, slightly breezy, and no people! It is a rarity during the summer and on beautiful days, to have the fountain all for your family.

We went for a picnic in the park, but only one other family came, our great friends the South family. We had fun talking, the boys loved playing in the water, and Meghan really wanted to go all the way in to the middle.

Jase loved running all around, and darting back and forth and in between the shoots of water.

I really loved watching Dominic run up to the water, then run away. It took him a bit to get in the water, but then he was loving it, just like the big boys. Meghan loved kicking her feet and legs in the sprays of water. She really loves the water and wanted to do everything the big kids were doing.

A visit with friends

About a month ago we spent a weekend with our good friends in Detroit. It consisted of the guys playing whirlyball, the girls shopping, and most of the weekend in our pjs!

Here are some of the pics of the weekend:
Jase loved breaking the chains, Meghan loved sucking and chewing on cold soda cans, they both loved playing the drums, and Meghan was her normal self eating everything she could.

We hope to spend more time with them again soon. Thanks for the great time Pete and Bridgette!

We also got to see one of the sister missionaries that taught me. She has since married and has a son. It has been a while, but it was great to see her and visit with her and finally meet her family!

High school friends

Do any of you blog readers keep in touch with someone you went to high school with? I have kept in touch with a couple of people, and B was my best bud in high school and still is. We have since both gotten married, I've had a couple kids, she's battled cancer and we get along great (with each other and the husbands).

We had the wonderful privilege of having B & P come and stay with us for a couple days during the beginning of January. We had a blast. Heather cooked some great food, we found out what our Brain Age is, went to the Children's museum, and of course played some Dr. Mario (by linking 2 game boys together - this is our favorite past time for the 4 of us to do) and Mario Golf on the Gamecube.

Jase just loves them, even though he has only seen them a handful of times. Within a couple of hours of their arrival, he was calling them Grandpa and Grandma, so you know he loves them a lot!
