Jase and the Kid's club at Home Depot

We finally took Jase to the Saturday morning building club at Home Depot. It only took forever to either remember or to not have other plans.

This time it was actually on accident. Joe had to go and get something to finish hooking up our ice maker and Jase went along. It took longer than I expected for them to be gone, but Jase was so excited to have made football helmet bookends! Plus, he got the apron and a pin.

Here he is painting them:

On our last day visiting Joseph's sister and family, we went to an indoor inflatable gym. The kids loved it and were completely exhausted after an hour of running around and climbing.

If only there was one of these back here at home.

Goofing around

When the kids were not feeling well and then Joseph starting not feeling well, we decided it was time to pull out the air mattress for additional lounging space. It became a nightly event to get it out after dinner and play on it. Meghan especially liked bouncing on it.

Reading

We are working on getting settled into our school routine, with the kids starting daycare at Purdue (aka school) and Joseph starting school as well. Each evening we read books and Meghan loves them just as much as Jase (although she likes to eat them too). Meghan can even turn the pages...

Stickers and capsules

There are several things that Jase loves to do and one of his favorites are stickers. Any type of stickers (address labels, price tag stickers, fun stickers, you name it; if it is a sticker, then he loves it).
Another favorite includes the foam capsules that grow into an animal when placed in warm water. He used to get these in the tub during bath time, but now that Jase and Meghan take baths together and Meghan eats everything, he can't have them at bath time.
I actually forgot that we still had some, until cleaning off my desk and found a bag with some. So, we decided to soak some in some water and see what grew. I think this time we got a giraffe, flamingo, t-rex, dragonfly, and a couple more animals that I don't remember (and I'm too lazy to get up and look - hey, at least I'm honest, it's been a loooooong day with a teething baby).

What things do your kids love? And what makes them super happy (as the motto goes "a happy momma makes for a happy house"; I also think that happy kids make for a happy momma).

Animals

Jase found a new use for Jenga blocks - to corral his animals in the wild African safari, Antarctica, and the farm yard on our table...

A week late...

So, I'm finally getting around to posting about our Easter. We had a great weekend. It started with the kids getting their Easter baskets from Grandpa and Grandma on Friday. Joe made them wait to open them until I got home and when I walked in the door, Jase said lets open it (the box).Jase ended up eating almost all his candy (including 2 hollow 12 inch bunnies) in 3 days. But at least then I don't have to listen to, "Mommy I want my candy" anymore.

Then on Saturday we dyed eggs. Jase loved it even more than last year. After dying all the eggs, we then put the plastic shrink sleeves on them. He thought that was great.

Here are the eggs...and Jase loves eating hard boiled eggs - he ate most of the eggs himself.

Sunday morning the Easter bunny left baskets (and hid eggs after church). Jase has been wanting letters and numbers for the tub and Meghan got some sippy cups and puffs.

Here are the kids dressed up in their Easter clothes (and summer wedding clothes)... Aren't they just adorable! I love how Meghan's dress and Jase's shirt match. I would like to get a lilac shirt and tie for Jase as well...

Movies

I've seen some pretty funny (and good) movies over the last couple months. Here are my reviews of them:

Wild Hogs: absolutely hilarious; I have not seen a movie this funny in years; we woke the kids up from laughing so loud.

Stardust: an ok movie; not a favorite at first, but it is growing on me each time I see it.

Bridge to T
erabithia: loved it, although not as much as the book that I read and loved as a kid, but still great

Miss Potter: I saw this one months ago and then just recently saw it again; it has sad parts, but I think it ends on a happy and content note.

No Reservations: I liked this movie, although not as much as Chocolat.

The Bourne Ultimatum and Rush Hour 3 were good, but not as enjoyable as the first 2 in each series.

What is the best movie you've seen in the last couple months? Anything I should watch?
