Church softball game

Our stake had an Elder's Quorum softball game between the Lafayette 1st and the Lafayette 2nd and 3rd wards. I think everyone that attended (playing or participating) had a great time. The softball seemed a little slippery at times for the fielding team, but both teams had some great hits. Joseph was the first player to bat for the game and he hit a double straight off! Jase really liked the bats, and kept going into the dugout to get another one or two...After the game there were treats for everyone, including donuts, ice cream, and watermelon.
Jase was exhausted by the time everyone left and he headed back for one last night of camping with Grandpa and Grandma.

Camping with Grandpa and Grandma (fun and dangerous)

Heather's parents came to visit for a week and camped at Prophetstown State Park with Jase. Jase loved camping and playing non-stop with his grandparents.
Joseph and Heather were at the campground almost everyday and the days we weren't there, the camping threesome came into town and visited the Holdaway home.

About half way through the visit, right after waking up, Jase opened the screen door to the 5th wheel and fell out onto the metal stairs. Grandpa was able to catch him before hitting the ground, but the metal stairs did some damage...
Jase had a cut just under his eyebrow about a 1/2 inch long (not sure how deep). He also had an abrasion on his cheek and nose. His eye puffed up quite a bit, but within a few days he was looking lots better. So, while camping with Grandpa and Grandma is fun, it is also dangerous...

Jase loves his squirt guns and has recently fell in love with Joseph's airsoft guns (note the red tip in the above picture). He likes going in the basement with Joseph and shooting monsters.
On one of the visits to the house from the camping trio, we had a banana cream pie. Jase loves getting into the cream topping, but really doesn't eat the actual pie. He also does this covertly, so as to not make much noise and draw attention to himself. He even gets the cover off quietly...

Pudding for breakfast?

The pictures say it all - this is what breakfast with daddy consist of:

Jases's new toy

Jase's new toy is Heather's laptop.
He loves paying a Winnie the Pooh balloon popping game that teaches colors, numbers, letters, and shapes. All he need help with is getting the program loaded (which probably won't take too long before he does that on his own too).

This is what a child does...

when he isn't ready to go to sleep yet:
So when I went to check on Jase before going to bed, I found about 200 flaps from this book surrounding him on his bed (if only I'd have taken a picture of that - but I didn't want to wake him). This was a really nice book, that is when more than 6 flaps remained... At least Jase had a fun before calling it bedtime!

What a busy month

It's been so long since a new post. I've been meaning to, but then I have been forgetting to take the camera with us, and everyone knows that blogging without photos isn't nearly as fun. Plus, the few pictures we have taken are still on the camera - argh...

So to highlight our month so far (though not in order of priority):
  • the last Harry Potter book is out (and I believe Joseph should finally be done with it so I can pick up from page 250 - that is where he took it from me on Saturday after golfing)
  • we finally saw the 5th Harry Potter movie (and were both disappointed)
  • finding out that our good friends, the Weber's, are moving July 31 :(
  • Joe going to a LAN party and Jase and Heather going to McDonald's with friends and then to a sprinkler party at the Madsen's
  • the following morning pulling off a ward breakfast social at Columbian Park for ~75 people (after weeks of planning)
  • Joe going golfing immediately after the breakfast
  • then meeting us at Columbian park with the Weber, South, and Madsen families for a BBQ
  • Heather's parents coming into town and camping at Prophetstown SP with Jase (who loves being outside and camping)
  • Joseph finishing up his summer classes, AutoCAD, and math
  • only 7 more weeks until #2 comes along...
I promise there will be some pictures soon...
