What a busy month

It's been so long since a new post. I've been meaning to, but then I have been forgetting to take the camera with us, and everyone knows that blogging without photos isn't nearly as fun. Plus, the few pictures we have taken are still on the camera - argh...

So to highlight our month so far (though not in order of priority):
  • the last Harry Potter book is out (and I believe Joseph should finally be done with it so I can pick up from page 250 - that is where he took it from me on Saturday after golfing)
  • we finally saw the 5th Harry Potter movie (and were both disappointed)
  • finding out that our good friends, the Weber's, are moving July 31 :(
  • Joe going to a LAN party and Jase and Heather going to McDonald's with friends and then to a sprinkler party at the Madsen's
  • the following morning pulling off a ward breakfast social at Columbian Park for ~75 people (after weeks of planning)
  • Joe going golfing immediately after the breakfast
  • then meeting us at Columbian park with the Weber, South, and Madsen families for a BBQ
  • Heather's parents coming into town and camping at Prophetstown SP with Jase (who loves being outside and camping)
  • Joseph finishing up his summer classes, AutoCAD, and math
  • only 7 more weeks until #2 comes along...
I promise there will be some pictures soon...

I just stumbled across a great blog, 5 Minutes For Mom, that is having tons of 4th of July contests (all ending tonight). If you hurry, you can get in on the fun!

Ultrasound #3 and birth scheduling

A couple weeks ago we had another ultrasound of the baby because the baby doesn't like to cooperate with getting images taken. I reminded the ultrasound tech that we didn't want to know the sex of the baby and then we got started. During the course of the ultrasound we got talking and I asked if what was on the screen was the rump. She must have forgotten during our conversation that we didn't want to know the sex, as she proceeded to tell me that there is nothing there but an umbilical cord. So, that means it looks like we are having a little girl and we can't be more elated! Although, a little brother for Jase would have been nice too.

We also scheduled the c-section for September 12, just a little over 11 weeks away. Keep in touch for developments along the way and pics when the baby arrives.

Lions and Tigers and Bears, Oh My!

Saturday we made a trip to the Indy zoo, which is one of Jase's favorite places to go. This is the first time we've made it there since the new Ocean's exhibit opened Memorial Day weekend. This new exhibit features the animals of the water (bonnethead sharks, seahorses, fish, etc) and houses the worlds largest shark touch pool. There were many 2-3 feet long dog sharks to touch. Jase got to touch 2!

Then of course there are the outback and safari animals...

Finally, each time we go to the zoo Jase feeds the giraffe's. He loves doing this...

Train!

Jase has been anxiously awaiting the Columbian Park train to start running, so on opening day, Saturday, we made a special trip to feed the ducks and geese (Cheerios work just as great as bread), and to ride the train. It was the highlight of his day.

Strawberries!

Strawberry season is here! Actually it started around Memorial Day weekend. We heard about a great farm just outside of town from a friend, so Joseph and Jase went Wednesday morning and picked 9 pounds in less than an hour! When Heather got home from work she made a fresh strawberry pie - yum! It seems as though strawberries were the only thing Jase ate all day (along with a slice or two of wheat bread - a staple of his...). Here is Jase all ready to pick, or shall we say eat!

Heather is hoping for more strawberries to magically appear again sometime this week (hint, hint...)

Jase's after bath routine

So lately after Jase gets his bath he loves to run around naked, dance if he hears music and play with his toys! We actually let him enjoy his freedom from his diaper for a bit, that is before we worry about an accident...
