It was right at my face level and we were literally eye to eye. Once the surprise wore off I got the camera and then talked with Jase about the spider, how it was spinning up it's food (we got to see this), and why most spiders are nice by eating unwanted insects.
Thankfully I'm not terrified of spiders - that's bees for me. Are you friends or foes with spiders?

I love the big fall spiders.... as long as they are not on me :)
They make gorgeous big webs. I remember when I was growing up they would make a web big enough to take up our back door. We really had to pay attention when we went outside or we would have web face.
