Meghan has a spot that she claims as her own in the kitchen, dining room, and living room. In the living room it is the front of the treadmill. She loves climbing up on the front step and standing and sitting there.

She also loves to try and pull her stroller full of toys up there too. It usually never makes it up there though.

And here is Jase in his favorite place to be where Meghan can't get to him (yet)...

If Jase takes a nap on the weekends, this is where he usually takes it...

Silly Jase
Jase loves getting into Meghan's girlie things (hair clips, headbands, dolls) and claiming them as his. This is what he decided to do with the headbands this time...

The one on his head is pretty normal, but I'm not sure what he was shooting for with one around leg - garters maybe, or strings like a puppet?

Baby stroller or chair?
Meghan loves her baby stroller. She quite often uses it to push around one of her 3 dolls. She also uses it like a shopping cart, piling as many toys into it that will fit, and then getting frustrated when any additional toys fall out and won't stay where she puts them. But she has also decided to use it as a chair to sit in and watch some T.V.

She's a little zoned here, probably watching either Johnny and the Sprites or Curious George...

Ugh
So I was walking along our side yard to go into the back yard with the kids and almost walked face first into this:

It was right at my face level and we were literally eye to eye. Once the surprise wore off I got the camera and then talked with Jase about the spider, how it was spinning up it's food (we got to see this), and why most spiders are nice by eating unwanted insects.
Thankfully I'm not terrified of spiders - that's bees for me. Are you friends or foes with spiders?

Long awaited update
Meghan had her 1 year check-up last week.
Here are her stats:
Weight: 20lbs, 8oz (50%)
Height: 30 3/4 inches (90%)
Head: 17% (she has always had a small head)
Meghan has 2 molars coming in and has been teething something fierce. Anything she comes in contact with is chewed. Book spines are no match for her teeth...
Jase has had some breathing issues probably due to seasonal allergies (it happened last year too), so he now has breathing treatments 4x/day, since he doesn't do well with an inhaler. All the kids at school think it is very interesting and they all want to take turns (this really helps Jase with taking his medicine, as he isn't missing out on playing...) He seems to be doing better now...
Joe has been really busy with school and helping out with the house and kids as he can.
I've been really busy with work, church callings, and reading. I finally caved and read The Twilight Saga (everything - all 4 books and the online draft). It was an enjoyable read, although I liked book 1 & 3 better than 2 & 4. Actually book 4 took me the longest to read - I just didn't really get into it. Parts were good, but some parts were just difficult to read. Anyways, that is why I haven't been blogging. No pictures for now, as I haven't taken them off the camera...

Meghan turns 1!
Meghan's 1st birthday was Friday, September 12. She enjoyed a fun day at daycare and brought fresh fruit to share with her friends. The fruit was a huge hit and it was all eaten (and we brought a lot). When we got home there was a package of birthday goodies from Heather's parents. Meghan got a book,
some smarties (although Jase wanted them all),
a new baby doll,

and some cute clothes.
I was surprised how well she actually opened the presents and tore the paper...
Then it was on to her birthday dinner of spaghetti. This is likely her favorite meal, although she loves to eat anything and everything.
Jase also loves spaghetti, and Joe could eat it once a week, so everyone was pleased.

After we ate dinner, Meghan was ready for bed, so we decided to save the cake for Saturday.
Saturday morning we went to Chuck E Cheese's for a little bit and both Meghan and Jase had a blast.
From daddy, mommy, and Jase, Meghan got a baby stroller and a ball pit. Meghan loved her baby stroller for her dolls, although she also thinks that she can ride in it as well.

Meghan gets very upset if Jase takes any of her dolls or her stroller from her, or even if she isn't playing with them.
Meghan hasn't been too into the ball pit, but she is warming up to it. jase on the other hand loves it!

And finally last but not least, she loved her cake and kept reaching for it while we were singing to her.
